There are more than 4000 registered churches in Kenya. They are predominately Christian, though many different denominations and congregations exist.

I suppose this includes the briefcase churches owned by "seed" collectors. On nipate we have churches where preachers tell believers not to pay tithe, to drink moderately (with a good sprinkling of ad hominem for those outside looking in) and to worship on Sunday instead of the Sabbath day on which the Savior of the world worshiped "as His custom was" (Luke 4:16). Would Christ be in such a church?
It's not an idle question. Decisions on where one worships are made on the basis of family tradition, the doctrines preached and the character of the preachers and believers who frequent the church. However, the greatest motivation to attend church is to find moral bearing considering that the world today is confusing, difficult to bear and extremely disappointing. People attend church like wounded soldiers going to find healing and rest in a sanitarium. They come to find the great Physician, Jesus Christ.
