Let's Pray
« on: January 25, 2015, 09:13:19 AM »
Good morning church,
Revelation 21:22-23 (KJV)
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

The book of Revelation was written by one John who was a Jew and of course he shared Jewish aspirations of a restored Israel. By this point in time, Israel had been broken into two, Southern Judah and Israel and both had gone to captivity. The Northern Israel never returned. Judah returned much later but things was never much the same. The temple was rebuilt but Israel remained a mere colony under the Roman Empire.

Then in 70AD the temple was destroyed, the one structure that symbolized Israel. It is against this backdrop that John reminds us of a glorious future where there won't be any NEED for a temple because God and Jesus(Lamb) are the temple. So instead of looking forward to reconstruction of Israel and the temple, we should look forward to Jesus.

The reason am sharing this is because there is a belief system called Dispensationalism that is less than 200 years that teaches/taught that God has yet to fulfill ALL the promises He made in the Old Testament among which is granting LAND to Abraham descendants and reconstruction of a temple in Israel that measures more than 1200 mile in length and breadth, among others. This system also predicted in the early 1800s a rebirth of Israel as a nation.

In the late 1800s, some prominent and rich Jews started campaigning for the birth of Israel nation some 50years AFTER Dispensationalists predicted the same. In 1947, Israel was born. This act appeared to vindicate Dispensationalists. But it did more, they are still looking forward to reconstruction of the temple and re institution of the Mosaic animal sacrifices.

These are the guys who believe that Israel rebirth is somewhat 'prophetic'. They will NEVER condemn anything Israel does. Israel may decimate Gaza and its all God's will.

So we have Christians cheering Israel atrocities. ALL in the name of LAND. The belief is Israel is getting its Promises while Islam, Christianity's 'arch-enemy' is punished! Which reminds me of that incidence. It is slightly or no different from cheering the cops gassing kids with Israeli made tear gas. More of this later so help me God

Have a Blessed Lord's Day as you worship the LORD God Almighty and the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the earth (Rev 13:8  )
2 Timothy 2:4  No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
