Good start but might throw off other investors. 999 years lease was over the top.

There is hope they will eventually leave our beautiful land.

The leases 99yrs from 2010 or from 1920; That big debate.

Anyway I think with Ruto in power - we will squeeze at least some acreage.

The jokes in Africa are just too much.  Even with drones we cannot survey the lands.

Lawyer Kimutai Bosek claimed the firms own up to 200, 000 acres of land but insists on 89, 000 acres only.

Currently, the firms pay land rates of Sh1,600 per hectare and the counties are recommending up to Sh10,000 per acre.

I did quick google measure - Tea estates are right - 89,000 is more plausible. Could easily measure  250.42 km2.

They occupy about 10% of Kericho-Bomet county (90K out of nearly a million acres).  It not so terrible. Look like we need to concentrate more on creating as much value of the 90%.

Already I believe the small holder tea farms and factories outside the tea estate in Bomet-Kericho - beat the large tea estates.

Let the leader re-focus attention on the 90% of the land and create value.
