We have seen in our local politics and International Politics .
Matiba vs Moi
Kibaki vs Raila was Brinkmanship ( Kibaki Conceded and gave Raila half of his power)
Uhuru vs Raila was Brinkmanship ( Uhuru Conceded and handshaked Raila)
Ruto vs Raila is Brinkmanship ( Still Ongoing)
Putin vs Biden is Brinkmanship ( Still Ongoing )
Krushev vs Kennedy was Brinkmanship ( Both had let go missiles in Europe and Cuba )

Now why would you want to destroy a Kenyan economy on its knees due to looting during the Handshake. What would be the motive ?
Do another 92 ? Revolutionists usually have a greater course than self satisfaction .
Here we have someone who has been in the government since 1999 but still thinks he can get back to government as he has always done through backdoor . Managed with Cooperation with KANU , Alliance with NAK , grand coalition with PNU Handshake with Jubilee and now trying something new with UDA.

Having said that as nation we need to look at the reasons why Kenyans dont heal after elections . last years election was the most boring one . 2007 ODM tried to rig  atleast back then they were clever enough to have media on their side broadcasting that they were on the forefront. Last year it was too obvious they were pegging their victory on rigging . How would you explain receiving Ruto with praises a month earlier the later you are rioting .

why should leaders always rry to get an edge through Brinkmanship . We need to ask ourselves is it worth it ?

It simple.
Until one bull emerges on top - fighting and jostling will continue.
Last election was split - evenly - but Ruto has moved to consolidate power.
Ruto has to finish Raila - then country will heal for 10yrs.
He will be unchallenged.

US have to finish Putin - then focus on China.

We have to accept that is how democracy works: winner- loser. Government -opposition.

It is not brinkmanship it is just lawlessness and impunity we have allowed to flourish.

Also, duality fed by religious zealots has made us zombiely think disagreements are bad. Ati, there is only good and evil. Gods and satan.  This has killed alternatives.

Trump anafinywa and that won't be the end of US.
