They should have just ignored him .  Raila has always thrived on Chaos and violence , you give him its the energy boost he requires to squeeze the government into Cooperation , grand coalition and Handshake .

Why would world care about kenya - ukraine - Russia is busy. Raila and his crooks must be met with reasonable force if they are intention is to disrupt peace.

I think idea is to discourage large attendance that make police work harder. Those attending will know it will be running battles. Internationally raila has run out of empatic capital.

Ruto must demonstrate to Raila that he is ready for street battles; because that intimidation using violence; Ignore wont work when someone is running on empty and has nothing to lose.

Raila need a nudge to get him to retire. One by one he will be left alone with few hardliners.

Hospitals, Morturies, and chemists will make a lot of money for treating the injured, sick, and the dead from police beatings and tear gas. A lot of folk will be left paralyzed for a while in the name of following election loser.
The future belongs to those who have a quarter of the character and integrity of RV Heavy Hitter!

I am not sure when Raila settled on the magic date, March 20th but what makes this significant (dumb souls on this forum still don't get it save for @Njuri Ncheke) is that on this day 5 other African countries will be on the street inviting previous free International media coverage for Raila (South Africa, Kenya, Tunisia, Nigeria ....) NTV has on 9pm news a clip on all the 5 countries who have planned demos on March 20th. Bobby Wine deputy has sneaked into Kenya to lend Ugandan moral support to the demos.

Who doesn't know Ruto: says one thing next minute quietly nurses his wounds. Unless you don't know Ruto, you can't put him in a straight jacket.....

Western intl media will cover the protest.
Western gov are super friendly to Ruto gov.
They know shenagians Raila and Uhuru tried to pull in last election.

Ruto is like Museveni or Kagame or Eth - darling of the west - as he's promising to shift kenya from china back to west.

In that case therefore Raila has no leverage - locally or internationally - he should retire if he had brain.

He clearly has no brain.

It like fighting Jomo and Moi pre-1990s - US and western countries didnt care - as long as you opposed Russia-China.

We are back to there - west - are looking for people like Ruto who can stop the eastern front - china esp - influence globally.

Kumbe Kumbe - who is Kenya president right now?
William Kipchirchir Samoei Arap Ruto CGH
And there is nothing you can do about it until 2032 earliest.

Well in that case, there will clearly be Thousands if not millions of "brainless" Kenyans out on the street today responding to his clarion call.
You are so careless with words I am almost tempted to think you are the brainless one.

Being President isn't known to change one's character. Fact is Ruto does change his mind and that is the point I am trying to make. So keep shouting hoarse that "Ruto won't negotiate".

Majority of people in world are brainless. Only a few are geniuses.
Ruto definitely very brilliant.
Raila and his supporters are fools who have not getting anywhere near power since 1950s.

Raila started running for PORK when I was in high school.

Ruto has just one run - and is now PORK.

Clearly Raila is special type of foolish. Without his father name - he would not lead even group of goats in Kondele.

Well in that case, there will clearly be Thousands if not millions of "brainless" Kenyans out on the street today responding to his clarion call.

Everyone can change their mind :)
Ruto will talk to Raila about GOLDEN HANDSHAKE.
That is Raila retiring to Bondo.

And of course Raila is free to become Official Opposition Leader - Ruto will give him a few prados and budget for that.

That is how progressive Ruto is.
