KPLC run too many generators when solar would work just fine

The low Sulphur diesel was to be delivered at KPLC off-power stations in Mandera, Marsabit, Habaswein, Merti, Baragoi, Wajir, Lodwar, Maikona, Khorodile, Eldas, Lokiriama, Moyale, Kakuma, Kotulo, Elwak and Lokichoggio.

Other power stations are Kamoliban, Takaba, Rhamu, Banissa, Mfangano Daadab, Laisamis, Kiunga, Hulugho, Lokori, North Horr, Lokitaung, Faza Island and Sololo.

Almost 10 billion Kshs tender for oil.


If they use that 10 billion - they can build many solar mini grids to supply these off grid stations.

It should be hybrid solar and wind at night and backup generators

Once solar panels are installed, there will be no more cuts for some well connected people. This is why status quo has to be in place.
