Conclusion; Ruto has binary choice; become a kenyan president ; or continue to become president of half the country; He can continue to become RVGEMA president or can become president that is liked from all corners of kenya.

Magufuli despite rigged became insanely popular in Tanzania by working hard (though stupidly most of the time) and being fair handed.

Ruto has greatness written in him - and can become insanely popular if he expand his horizon - and refuse to be caged by narrow minded politicians from RV & GEMA who cannot see beyond their big stomach.

Ruto is on the right path, if you look at how he gave out the speakers posts and parlimentary positions, however he has to deal with reality which Raila came to realise much later, i think Rutos war with Uhuru humbled him , it made him acknowledge that if you go hunting and the the prize you have to fulfill the promises.
Ruto will consolidate his vote basket and then go hunting for more, now lets be honest Mijikenda , Luhya and North  Eastern really dissapointed in August elections , We thought Ruto would perfom bwtter but that was not the case.

He should consolidate china ya maji without overt tribalism; Moi generally did better than Kenyatts; reward friends silently whenever possible; but PR has to be topnotch ; it terrible PR for a whole list of PS not include a big tribe like Gusii. These tokenism matters. Sometimes more than anything - people just want to feel part of gov - without benefiting directly,

Now on issue of luhya/mijikenda under performing - they did - and ruto has been magnanimous to honour the deal. I really cant blamed them raila has been their man, finally he had gov support, and uhuru pulled all stops, rigging, bribing, chiefs.

Ruto became president almost by divine intervention and smallest of margin
