Strange.i always thought Nandi n keiyo stopped it long time...seem it went underground.Kipsigis it mostly started stoping in 90s and has practically ended.kipsigis we had to talk about it until it was totally stamped out.But gema n gusii it went underground

Growing up meliat .. uncircumcised mature girl was bad abuse..we were told never to eat food cooked by a meliat..it was serious stigma.kalenjin attached premium to circumscion

No, but if still, it is way underground. Nandis stopped the practice in the early 80s, but among the Keiyos and Marakwet, it was still prevalent in the 90s. Most Nandi women under 40 today are almost all uncut.

Chemeli middle name in Nandi is no longer common because there are no women circumcision.  The youngest Chemeli is around 40-45 (Ignore inspector Chepkwony)

No, I think in the 70s, but even today, you can still find pockets of GEMA cut women. The practice remains secretive in African society.
