From a decision makers point of view, a day of purge makes sense. Would you lock yourselves up or go out?
I'd probably go out.

If I lived in that dystopian existence, I'd have already built myself a nice hole in the ground like the good hobbit I am. :D With a nice big heavy lock. Make that a thousand locks! And a gun. And a toilet. And a bullet-proof vest and helmet. I think that's all. :D

I'd recruit a private militia (lots in West Africa) steal govt choppers, arm myself with AKs and rescue hapless souls.

I believe the universe is built on polarities. When more people suffer, more with a conscience usually the timid ones are forced to be courageous.
