•Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed said Kenya did not get any specific and “actionable” information on the Garissa attack.

I don't get these "travel advisory" threats. Who cares? If someone wants to go to a war torn country they'll go anyway regardless of "travel advisory" threats.

Isn't it about time these advisories are shared with everyone. The gov should consider warning the public every-time they receive a credible intelligence. This is one way of preparedness.

A transparent government will do that, but Uhurus will tell you "we are dealing with it be quiet".
They could rather spend 200million to chase people who post on facebook rather than use it to launch special terror foces accross country.

Those warnings are useless in a country that spends $1 billion a year on the military alone and cannot raise a transporter to place 25 active bodies on the scene.
John Githongo is right. Corruption is literally costing Kenyan's lives.

It sure looks comical---in the "black comedy" sense---to have a highly trained, SWAT-like team that has no means of transportation.

These guys have to have someone pushing advocating for their welfare. Police leadership is supposed to be doing that, but................Am 100% sure that they are in the general police budget which is often manipulated to suit political needs.

Let's assume that every time advisories are issued attacks are imminent. That means the GoK has averted so many of them
The advisory by UK was as wild as a prophecy by Owuor...scattered arrows and you bet one will hit the mark

This lady has become a huge embarrassement andshe should also pack her bags and go away. She is prolific liar and lacks any principles. How can she claim that there was no intelligence when she and her boss openly derided the very intelligence that named Garissa and an institution of learning as the target?
Two days ago she lied that Kenya had requested help from the US. She forgot that in an open society such a request is bound to be in the public domain. The US government denied any such request had been made.
Then she took to the airwaves to lie that the security response had been timely and that 600 students had been rescued. If the security forces own the two legs on each surviving student's body then Amina is right!
