Title: Macbook vs. Toshiba: Dilemma-(comfort vs. image)
Post by: veritas on March 14, 2015, 07:03:29 PM
I'm going to purchase a laptop today. Can't decide on Toshiba or Macbook. Macbook looks trendy but I can't install most of my programs I've had since school. I noticed it's also really big and heavy for no reason other than to be glitzy. Lots of meta analysis softwares are incompatible with Macbook. . hmm.... do I want to look mainstream or remain underground ? If I get a Toshiba I'd pull it apart and install my own stash, that way I'm comfortable. But I fear since I'm in Houston, I may lose it. It may give me comfort and street creds but deter my professional image. Mac makes me look kosher but I'd never use it other than look good with it. What to do...

I prefer HP products to I-ware and others. Why don't you try hp probook or elitebook p series :)

You can get a MacBook, and install windows on it ( have 2 OS), thus have your sleek gadget, and your precious programs.

Hey Sibby  :)

I've tried that and it doesn't work. They keep saying "dual processor" some bleble like that but it's not compatible with Apple firmware. It's like yes you can use PC programs so long as it's new enough for Apple, which is usually like 18 months tops.

Whole day of shopping today. Unbeliveable. No laptop. Don't like any of them. I think I'll just buy a notebook and write my notes. I can afford to be old school since I have a BA in philosophy.
