Yikes!!!! By what metrics? Education, employment, business friendly, safety, order, corruption, efficient services etc Kenya has excellent weather, which is also changing because of global warming but everything else goes downhill from there. From massive corruption to extreme incompetence, Kenya or Nairobi does not even rank anywhere in the top 1000.

Expert earning a half million to a million in Kenya - with kids going to international schools - affording rent in rundas - 4WD with wekeend trips around the beautiful kenya - with great Nairobi weather - with natives bowing to you - with Nairobi affording you same shopping, restraurants and name it experience. Plus you've have driver, two maids, gardener. The electricity works most of time, water works in most of expert places, housing is world class and cheap.
Only few things - Nairobi will soon be NO 1 :)
Nairobi is great for many people. Even poorest kenyans have a live in maid.

Abload is like staying in the moon - shida tupu - no maid for kids - you cook for yourselves - horrible weather - no social life - no trips around country except 3 months of summer which is also too hot - everywhere is just silent - everyone stuck indoors like rats - except for few months of summer - which is hot again. No friends. No smiles. No hearty laughters. No loud bars with music, football and name it. Nobody telling you Mkubwa :). Abload you have to stay on best behavior - otherwise you break the law - you pay. Then everything is expensive.

Pundit correct the title its Kenya not Nairobi,its misleading, However I agree with everything you say Kenya is superb for bazungu have met several of them and the first thing they tell me.is how we Kenyans have a wonderful country. Its a pity many Kenyans take this for granted basically because they are poor and go unnoticed what the country has to offer.
Nairobi as a place to live can't feature anywhere compared to other cities in the world.

I agree with both of you, the muzungu “experts”have managed to build themselves a country within a country. With the dollar, they can hire multiple slaves and have minimal interactions with the poor masses. That being a muzungu and can live this way in a country that has been independent this long should be something that makes us all sad, not proud. The biggest players in the expert world prefer to live in places like Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan or the Emirate. In this places they can actually make a difference.

Yes, now you can see, Nairobi is like south africa, some people live big, majority are struggling.
