Boston Marathon
« on: April 16, 2018, 08:25:59 PM »
Desiree Linden wins women's Boston Marathon.  She ran a 6 minute mile for 26 miles!  Some jap won the men's.

Here is why I have realized I can never run a respectable marathon.   I have never been able to run a 7 minute mile.  My body type is athletic, but built more for explosive power and sudden changes in velocity than long runs.  My ancestors must have lived in a tropical rain-forest environment.  Where ambush hunting makes more sense than running after an animal until it gives up.  Granted I could probably do it, but it would take me at least 6 hours.

Looks like Boston and US marathons are intentionally trying to prevent east africans from winnng - and hopefully generating more interest for the race.

Something is definitely up.  Chicago was also won by an American for the first time last year.  So in a span of a few months, suddenly Kenyans are not winning races they almost always win.
