Doing Buisness in NAirobi using Bitcoins ala Bongapoints.
« on: October 25, 2016, 03:12:08 PM »
For bitcoin to be independent locally and its value not having to rely on other currency like dollars or shillings  for benchmark or even measured against other fiat it has to reach a certain level of adoption, Technologically averse business people have to start accepting as a  mode of exchange- people who believe in Bitcoin has to come together especially around Nairobi and come up with mode of exchange based on prices of goods and services locally- Bitcoins can only be of help if it can be used as mode of exchange.

one form of Cryptocurrency in Kenya is Bongapoint,Safaricom have partnered with several outlets where you can buy some goods or services using bongapoint- for anybody who don't understand how BITCOINS are supposed to work- the best place to start is to understand how Bongapoint work.

if a businessman A owns a coffee shop in Hurlinghum another one own a petrol station in Town while the third one sells clothes and shoes in town while say another own a supermarket- if this people come together and accept to be accepting  Bitcoins as their mode of exchange this technology will gain traction in Kenya. This are some of the basic things which somebody who has no any other money but Bitcoins can survive with.

Of importance is to note that i don't  want imagine bitcoin to be fully replacing fiat altogether in the near future, but more or  less likely coexist together and having bitcoin become useful in certain areas.

Having said that I think we still have so many things that could change and turn towards brighter prospect if suddenly adoption level just suddenly goes off the roof .
