Let's Pray
« on: August 30, 2015, 12:20:54 PM »
Good morning church,
Today I wish to share shortly on prayer.

Broken down
-Paul received mind blowing revelations great in frequency and intensity.
-He also receives a 'thorn in the flesh'. This in all likelihood was a physically painful/uncomfortable thing and it was meant to prevent him from conceit or pride
-Paul at first keeps God to remove it. He does this thrice
-God instead of removing it He assures him that 'my grace is sufficient'
- the pain the source of discomfort becomes his object of boasting and contentment

Note;
1. Paul ran to God from the get go. So many times we only run to God when we have exhausted all our abilities.
2. Paul, when he got no solution he persisted. He prayed thrice. We oft times even after praying give up so easily. Jesus taught us the virtue off importunity- Luke 11:1-13
3. Paul received an answer. He sought the thorn to be removed, God assured him of His grace. We should not stop until we receive an answer
4. Paul accepted the answer. There are times we will not get exactly what we seek, but we should accept the perfect will of God. Jesus taught us to pray 'thy will be done'. Not Al, times we may know the will of God, but prayer should be about God's will ultimately

Have a prayerful Lord's day even as we worship the Lord of Glory(1 Corinthians 2:8 )
2 Timothy 2:4  No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
