Ruto has worked the Ukambani ground.
Secondly the wiper thinking members like him and Kilonzo Jnr are asking serious question.
What is assurance Raila will win - when it appears Mt kenya has rejected him and he has lost ground in former NASA regions.
Raila is weaker than before - and when they gave him all the backing - he still ended up at 43 then 45 percent.
Right now OKA has flower girls - and Uhuru whose effectiveness as lameduck is doubtful.
We will see next week if he will crack the ground - or it will be a disaster.
More importantly - you're asking Kalonzo to join as No 3 - not even a No 2?
And applying pressure & madharau through governors - same treatment applied to MaDVD+Weta
That is why Kalonzo is thinking again
1) Join Azimio - risk it again for 1/3 or even less of gov.
2) Run alone and try 2007 post election deal - assuming Ruto fails to win 1st round.
3) Join Ruto - sure bet but take 1/4 - now that 1/3 has been taken by MaDVD.
If you rationally examine those options
1) Raila's Azimio is risky - and again the ground could go rouge. He will become the laughing stock going back to Ukambani this time round not even as DPORK. He has to hate Ruto that much. In case Raila dies - he wont even be direct competition.
2) Running alone is also risky - but if forces run off - his premium rises to the roof.
3) Sure bet - Ruto already has it and Kalonzo joining him takes him to beyond 60 percent - impossible to rig or beat - but he has to accept to take 3 ministers - maybe become MaDVD assistant Chief Minister plus Foreign Affairs minister - and get two other ministries - and maybe 1/4 of ambassadors/chairman.
If I was Kalonzo - I would go for Ruto 1/4 deal - and ask for downpayment of at least 2 billion Kshs. I am sure Ruto will pay because it basically end the presidential race - and all the campaign money being wasted can be given to Kalonzo.
Maanzo should put his money where his mouth is.Ler him resign from wiper and defend his seat on UDA if Kalonzo joins Azimio. That is the only way to we can start consider ing him serious.
