Hannibal character in the novels,movie and series fascinate(d) me the most. So I’m browsing Quora and I came across real life experiences of psychologists & psychiatrists with psychiatric patients. Feels like a movie
I’m neither a psychologist nor a psychiatrist. But when I was in my early 20s I worked a couple of years as a paramedic and member of a rescue squad. The squad provided basic first-responder care, CPR, etc. We were occasionally enlisted to take mental patients who were acting up at the hospital to the psychiatric hospital in Trenton, New Jersey. It’s not really something that we were supposed to do, but every once a while we would get suckered by a local hospital.
So one afternoon we got a call for transport from the local medical center. They met us in the ER and handed over the patient. He looked to be about 30, had long dark hair past his shoulders, and a full beard. Good-looking, but very intense. He was strapped into the gurney with multiple restraints. The nurse introduced us. “I'd like you to meet Jesus, Jesus Christ.”
He looked up at me peacefully. “Bless you my son.....”

Monsters are real. Consider the Las Vegas shooter and others. All the "grudges" they have against society are mostly delusions. They are mental cases.

All boys are mischievous. So we used to throw small stones on corrugated iron sheet rooftops just to piss off adults.
So one day this old mzee who used to be a primary school teacher, and who couldn't outrun nobody put up a tiny house in his compound with some shiny mabati. It was actually his son's.
The son moved in with his wife. Being shiny, it was attractive and we went on with our games. Throw some stones and duck before nobody sees you..rinse and repeat.
We realized nobody was coming after us so we got bolder and got nearer. Suddenly a strong hand grabs my neck and shirt from behind.
It was a woman wielding a long and sharp kitchen knife. The daughter-in-love to the mzee. I couldn't wriggle out. My boys left me. I was that unlucky animal in the herd that predators zoom on.

The lady started screaming.

She got the idiots who couldn't suffer her infant to sleep by throwing stones

She threatened to stab anyone drawing near.
Ok. I'm still here, so she never killed me but I have never seen death so close...not even when I had auto accidents. The incidence still sends chills down my spine decades later
