That girl was on some runners high ..peaked and kept the energy up ..she got in a zone and kept going ..amazing

Was Genzebe injured?  Towards the end at 11:26  you can see almost imperceptibly she seems to have some issues.  Almost like she wound up running hurt.  Great run by Obiri either way.

Or perhaps just tired.   She seems to have spent the last couple of months preparing to have a ago at the world record, and she did that (unsuccessfully) at the Prefontaine Classic a couple of weeks ago.   She didn't have any real competition there, and one wonders how it would have gone with someone like Obiri there.

If you are a runner, you will realize that Genzebe is a damn good runner.  That last lap.  Damn.  The form was impeccable.

Yeah.  But if you sit in the office all day and don't know the ins and outs of running you might not empathize with what she is going through on that last turn where her spirit defies her body as she digs deeper.  Turns are energy sapping.
