Now it's official! After years of back-and-forth negotiations, the wait is finally over! Undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather and 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao have both put pen to paper to finalize their long-awaited showdown. As expected, the bout will take place on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
While details of all the terms have yet to be revealed, we do know that the bout will be contested at the welterweight limit of 147 pounds with the use of 8 oz. gloves. Furthermore, as has been the case for Mayweather's last seven fights, random blood and urine testing will be conducted by the United States Anti-Doping Agency [USADA].
We could bore you with a brief history of what got us to this point, but do you really care? The only thing that matters is.....IT'S ON!

Lots of his fans hearts will be broken. Pacman wasn't Money's match five years ago, he damn sure isn't today. He's gonna need a knockout. His team thinks they have a very good strategy as they prepare for the fight and they can beat Mayweather whether it goes to the cards or not.

I think Mayweather is starting to smell defeat. Cant wait for this fight

HBO documentary of the two fighters:
Here are the other HBO promo pieces that are absolutely fantastic :

My thoughts about the fight tonight:
The more I think about the fight, the more I see Floyd stopping Pac man late in the round.
Floyd said something about Pac man on LA Sports radio this week that made me think. Pac man doesn’t go on survival mode that would benefit him getting the TKO, and I actually think he has a solid point. Whenever Pac man gets rocked by a good punch, he never clinches or holds his opponent to survive the round. Pac man would just continue his in and out game and just keep going. He might slow down the pace of his attack to get his legs back, but he literally stays the same.
The reason this benefits Floyd is because Floyd always breaks down his opponents to the point they're ready to get TKO'd, e.g. Cotto, Maidana, Guerrero. Of course he didn't get the TKO against them because they were the bigger and smarter man and held on to survive the fight. Manny however is smaller and won't try to go into survival mode.
For Manny's sake, the fight better be competitive because if it's a regular Mayweather fight where he completely dominates his opponent, Manny's gonna get knocked out. I still have Floyd winning by decision, but if there's gonna be a TKO, it'll be Floyd Knocking Manny out.
60% of America think Pac Man will win, while 40% think Floyd will win.
If you have a chance go watch this fight. Floyd is the most quickest fighter I have ever seen in my life

Who is watching this garbage wit me?

Watching it live. Round 11 just started. Floyd is wining so far

Final round. Pac Man needs a TKO. Floyd is wining so far

The judges called it for Floyd. Fans are booing. Pac Man says Floyd was just running around and thinks he won the fight.

I knew Mayweather would win based on the documentaries. Mayweather is more stronger and fitter, Pac isn't strong enough.
What a boring fight.
My sibling wearing his TMT shirt around town being booed was more interesting than this fight.
My sibling predicted unanimous decision Mayweather win.
I should've bet a million bucks on this fight. I'd be so rich now. Fck. Should occasionally use my psychic powers for greed.

Yes, the fight was boring. I was going for Floyd too, but he just ran around. It's disappointing
Evander Hollyfield (Heavy weight champ) thought Pac Man won. That says a lot
Floyd is now 48-0

May clearly respects Pac and held back. It didn't look to be his best fight. He looked bored. Pac perhaps won in terms of show casing skill, agility, strategy, experience etc. but clearly Man was stronger, tighter and more finely tuned as a professional athlete.
He was no match for Pac unfortunately. I'm not sure what the hype was about.

Veri, you're spot on. The match was overrated. We hosted, ate a lot of food and spend 100 dollars, but we didn't get our money's worth.
Happy Sunday! It's 11:30 PM in Los Angeles ..... Let me help cleaning

Agreed. Hope the party was fun though.

Mayweather is a defensive fighter also, and he's one of the best to ever employ that style. My jaw literally dropped several times watching just how quick and evasive he was against a super fast fighter like Pac Man. His style is actually very showy and exciting if you can appreciate just how difficult it is to run a boxing match that way, but not for the fans that spend 100 bucks.
We wanted more action

Troll here :)
I have serious difficulty appreciating the notion that two otherwise normal/sane human beings can beat each other senseless for any reason other than the fight/flight survival triggers, much less the notion that other equally sane/normal humans can actually enjoy the spectacle and make a sport out of it.
Don't bite my head off...just saying :D
Enjoy the "sport".

My sibling has been kickboxing since he was little, and now he trains people professionally. He's been on ring side and sporting tv channels many a times over the years.
So for me having watched him fight, and train kick boxers, his bonehead friends coming over etc. I'm used to it. I'd reiterate how violent it was, he'd shoot back a surgeon was more deadly- I've learnt to accept his passion for it.
I think it's more an appreciation of how deadly a pair of fists can get. The same way people appreciate martial arts. In undercut, amateur boxing etc. it looks pretty violent. Same way a beginner martial artist twirling nunchucks look bad.
I appreciate boxing as art and not for the sake of beating someone up.
At the same time the boxing world is incredibly dirty dangerous. I don't know a single boxer who isn't heavily involved with drugs.

I didn't watch the fight...somehow it didn't spark that much interest in me. Turns out it was overrated and most people left disappointed. I don't care for these two. I hope May weather doesn't end up blowing all his Benjamin's like Tyson. Ali still remains the most memorable boxer of this century.
